Breaking a streak of low self esteem is difficult. I used to be confident in my ability to act on the decisions I made, so I experienced a lot of success in sports, academics, and really anything I pursued. Because of the material success and accolades I gained, my life looked beautiful and happy on the outside. The truth was that I didn't know who I was and had a horribly unhealthy image of myself. I felt like a broken-down, dilapidated building. You can dress it up in a nice sunset, but in reality it's one bad storm away from falling apart. The good news is, I was able to rebuild and renovate what was once falling apart.
